Maria Martha Delgado, 61, of Kennesaw GA died June 4, 2022.

Maria “Martica, Gordita” Delgado, daughter of Severino and Aida Chavez, loving wife of Mario Delgado and matriarch of the Delgado family passed away in her home surrounded by loved ones after a nearly three-year battle with colorectal cancer. She is survived by her husband Mario, her sister Miriam, and her three children Melissa, Mario, and Mallory. She was the adored “Aya” to her eight grandchildren Caleb, Trevor, Jaxon, Julian, Nash, Iyla, Ava, and Cruz. She was a woman with incredible, unwavering faith, who in her final days was filled with joy, peace, and anticipation that she would soon get to be face-to-face with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She loved the beach, board games, late-night laughs and conversations about life and faith, telling captivating stories about her early childhood in Cuba and upbringing in Miami, and was a good luck charm at the casino. But, most of all she loved spending time with her family and spoiling her grandchildren with love. From her students in the schools she worked in, to the nurses and doctors who provided her with care during her battle, there wasn’t a soul that entered Maria’s life who didn’t feel her love and authenticity. She was the type of person that others gravitated to and loved to be around. She will be dearly missed.

The celebration of Maria’s life will be held at Transfiguration Catholic Church, 1815 Blackwell Rd Marietta GA, 30066 on Wednesday June 15, 2022, at 2:00 pm. Doors will open at 1:30.
