It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Maria del Carmen “Carmela” Patiño, who left us on January 4th, 2025. Born on May 17th, 1967, in Altamira, Tamaulipas, Maria was the beloved daughter of Candido Carreño and Flora Patiño.

Carmela was a cherished and devoted mother, known for her strength, dedication, and unwavering love for her family and friends. She was unapologetically herself, always standing up for what she believed in and living her life with integrity and authenticity. Her legacy of love and dedication will continue to inspire her children and close family and friends.

Carmela had a passion for gardening, where she found peace and joy in nurturing her plants. She was also a bird lover, finding great joy in watching and caring for the birds that visited her garden. Carmela loved cooking and sharing her delicious meals with her family, creating countless cherished memories around the dinner table. She loved to travel with her family and explore new places and restaurants. Carmela had a great love for life. She loved her children very much and they were her greatest pride and joy.

Carmela is survived by her husband, Leonel Patiño, and their two children, Maria Patiño and Leonel Patiño Jr. She is also survived by many dear friends and extended family members who will forever hold her memory in their hearts.

A mass will be held to honor Carmela’s life and legacy. Details will be shared with family and friends.

Con profundo dolor anunciamos el fallecimiento de María del Carmen “Carmela” Patiño, quien nos dejó el 4 de enero de 2025. Nacida el 17 de mayo de 1967 en Altamira, Tamaulipas, María era la amada hija de Cándido Carreño y Flora Patiño.

Carmela era una madre querida y devota, conocida por su fortaleza, dedicación y amor inquebrantable por su familia. Ella siempre defendía lo que creía y vivía su vida con integridad y autenticidad. Su legado de amor y dedicación seguirá inspirando a sus hijos y a sus familiares y amigos más cercanos.

Carmela tenía pasión por la jardinería, donde encontraba paz y alegría al cuidar sus plantas. También era una amante de las aves y encontraba una gran alegría al observar y cuidar las aves que visitaban su jardín. A Carmela le encantaba cocinar y compartir sus deliciosas comidas con su familia, creando innumerables recuerdos preciados alrededor de la mesa. Le encantaba viajar con su familia y explorar nuevos lugares y restaurantes. Carmela tenía un gran amor por la vida. Amaba mucho a sus hijos y ellos eran su mayor orgullo y alegría.

A Carmela le sobreviven su esposo, Leonel Patiño, y sus dos hijos, María Patiño y Leonel Patiño Jr. También le sobreviven muchos queridos amigos y familiares que siempre guardarán su memoria en sus corazones.

Se realizará una misa para honrar la vida y el legado de Carmela. Los detalles se compartirán con familiares y amigos.
