Maria Butera Traettino, 80, passed away on January 15,2026, in Hackensack, NJ.Born on October 26th,1945 in Cianciana,Sicily, Maria lived most of her life in New Jersey,before spending her last years in Florida.

Maria’s commitment to God and her faith remained an important part of who she was. Maria’s love for her church family at University Carillon Church was apparent to all who knew her. She was also their Wednesday night cook for some time.

She is survived by her two children: Thomas, and Laurie, her son in law Michael, and her three grandchildren: Jordan, Eisley, and Nolan.

Maria’s memory will live on through her family, close friends, and church family.
