Maria López died on the night of October 10th, 2019 surrounded by friends and family. She is survived by her daughter Lily, her son Marcus, her husband Jacques Bourddillon, her sister Rosa Jennings, and her mother Helena Ruiz López . Maria lived a life full of adventure, emigrating from Colombia to live in Portland, Oregon at the young age of 17. It was there that she finished her high school career and pursued a career in education. While in the United States, she met her future husband Jacques and got married in 2000. She gave birth to a handsome son and a beautiful daughter. Maria eventually moved to Boca Raton to teach Spanish and live closer to her sister and her family.

Maria loved to teach, loved her children, loved her family, and was an extremely kind and giving person. She will be missed greatly and her death is a great burden on this Earth.
