Maria's obituary
Maria was born on January 30, 1956 to Robert Charles Davis of Harlem, NY and Theresa Maria Davis-Thibou of Dominica, West Indies, in Harlem, NY. After a short stint in Manhattan, the family moved to Brooklyn, NY where she attended PS. 362. Her father, Robert, lovingly called Bobby, wanted a better life for his family and therefore decided to purchase a home in West Hempstead, NY. As a result, Maria graduated from Malverne High School in 1974. After graduation, she went on to work for a local union and decided to help her father manage his various business ventures.
In 1980, she met Septimus Adolphus Beatong, and they wed in 1983, going on to have one child, named Sharise E-Lena Beatong.
Maria was interested in helping people. She became interested in the medical field and became a Certified Nursing Assistant when she graduated from the Center of Nursing in 1989.
After a few years in her career as a nursing assistant, Maria decided to shift gears and open her own daycare called, Ms. Bee's Daycare. She loved children and always had a way of getting the best out of people.
Maria always strived for more and decided she missed the medical field and decided to return to school in 2003. She became a medical assistant and worked with Dr. Marc Singer for 13 years.
Maria was passionate about fashion, dancing, and enjoying life. She loved music and loved to dance. She was strong and wasn't afraid to say what was on her mind. Maria was definitely a free spirit. We will miss her greatly.
Maria was predeceased by Robert Charles Davis and Theresa Davis Thibou. She is survived by her daughter- Sharise E-Lena Beatong, grandchildren- Marlondo Nehemiah Hall and Sarai Keturah Wilson; and her stepchildren, step grandchildren, and cousins.
