Margie's obituary
Margie Lee Cole, age 76, long time resident of Perry Missouri, died peacefully in her sleep in her home.
She married her high school sweetheart, Stanford Lee Cole, on June 27, 1964 in Palmyra, MO., just shy of 59 amazing years together. They had 4 daughters; Lisa (Marty) Archer of Kirksville, MO. Sharie Cole of Lake St. Louis, MO. Tina (Clayton) Long of Chillicothe, MO. Lori (TJ) Swafford of Kansas City, MO.
They had 10 grandchildren. Paige (Will) Mulligan, Cole Archer, Hailey & Gavin Seeley, Emma and Thomas Swafford. Step grandchildren Jensen and Hayden Simmer, and Trevor & Stewart Long; 2 great grandchildren, Patrick and Evelynn Mulligan
Margie was so kind and loving to ALL people! She extended grace to everyone she knew. People who hardly knew her said they felt her kindness and love and always asked her girls how she was doing. She loved with the love of Jesus.
She was an avid cook who loved sharing her recipes with everyone!! She loved studying new culinary skills and trying her new tricks on the family…..they were her “honest” consumers!!
Everyone knew Margie best for her homemade rolls cut to perfection with a soup can with the ends cut out!! She was generous to always make more than was needed and shared them freely!!
Stanford was the one who indulged in her cooking the most. They shared 59 years of wedded bliss. They demonstrated the perfect marriage that God intended. Mom truly lived out Proverbs 31.
Margie’s family felt her love with every spontaneous text and video and homemade card. Her grandchildren energized her and gave her reason to push forward when she just didn’t feel good.
She was the matriarch who held the family together. She accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior when she was 38 years old. The vision of her getting to be with our Heavenly Father before us all gives us true joy.
Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” John 14:6 NIV
