Margarita's obituary
Margarita G. Gonzalez passed away peacefully, surrounded by love. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, cherished grandmother, sister, and faithful servant of God whose life was defined by kindness, generosity, humor, and unwavering faith.
Margarita lived her life rooted in her love for God and expressed that faith through service to others. She was thoughtful, selfless, and always willing to help anyone in need. Her gentle heart, warm presence, and genuine care for others left a lasting impression on all who knew her.
She found her greatest joy in her family. As a mother and grandmother, she loved deeply and unconditionally, offering guidance, comfort, laughter, and prayer. She was known for her sense of humor, her contagious smile, and her ability to bring light even in difficult moments.
Her greatest legacy is a life devoted to God, lived through love, service, humility, and faith. Though she is no longer with us in body, her spirit, values, and love will continue to live on through the family she cherished and the many lives she touched.
Margarita is survived by her beloved husband, Romeo Gonzalez; her sister, Gabriella Gonzalez; her children, Jerado Gonzalez and Citlali Gomez; her son-in-law, Wilson Rivera Lucero; and her grandchildren: Jorge Gonzalez, Ukanunuxi Gonzalez, Julie Lucero, Sirena Howard, Rose Tedder, Evangeline Tedder, Rosa De Mers, Menda De Mers, Stephen De Mers, Jesse Lucero, Saleena Lucero, and Maria Lucero.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. at San Felipe de Jesus Catholic Church, located at 2215 Rancho Viejo Avenue, Brownsville, TX 78526. All are welcome to attend as we gather in prayer to celebrate her life and commend her soul to God.
