Margaret's obituary
Margaret Ann Webb, lovingly known as Maggie, passed away peacefully in Bellville, Texas. Born on June 28, 1945, in Orlando, Florida, to Grace Hudnall Quick and Lawrence James Quick, Maggie lived a vibrant and adventurous life filled with love, creativity, and service.
Maggie graduated from Highland Park High School in 1963, where she excelled as a varsity tennis player and member of the swim team. She attended Texas Tech University as a proud member of the Delta Gamma sorority and was a finalist in the 1964 Miss Texas Pageant. Her early career as a stewardess for Braniff International Airways sparked her love of travel and adventure, which remained a cornerstone of her life.
In 1978, Maggie moved to Houston with her beloved daughter, Holly Harrison, where she built a successful career in real estate with John Daugherty Realtors. This later blossomed into her passion for interior design, where her creative talent shone brightly. Maggie was also an active member of the Junior League of Houston and loved hosting themed parties that reflected her flair for beauty and detail.
In 1993, Maggie married Richard “Rit” Clark Webb, and together they shared 31 joyful years filled with travel, golf, tennis, and philanthropic endeavors. They restored a historic home in Bellville, Texas, transforming it into a place of grace and charm. Maggie was deeply involved in the Bellville community through organizations like the Bluebonnet Society and the Bellville Hospital Organization.
Maggie is survived by her daughter Holly Harrison and son-in-law James Harrison; grandchildren Elinor (Ellie) and Wynnston; brother James Walker Quick, his wife Carolyn, and their children James and Jennifer; stepdaughters Karen Paulson (Rich) and Janice Lavin (Buddy) and their families; as well as step-grandchildren Kim, Eric, Lisa, Morgan, Evan and Marguerite and numerous step-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her devoted husband Rit in October.
In honor of Rit’s dedication to Maggie during her battle with dementia and Alzheimer’s, and being an alumni, her body has been donated to the University of Texas Houston, for further research into these diseases. A memorial service will be held following the 10:30 a.m. Sunday service on January 12 at St. Mary’s Episcopal Church in Bellville, Texas.
Maggie’s warmth, creativity, and adventurous spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew her. May her memory bring comfort to her loved ones.
