Margaret "Peggie" Riddle-Gertken, 72, of Redding, CA, passed away on July 20, 2025 after a battle with heart disease and dementia. 

Margaret was born on December 17, 1952 to Jack and Charlotte Fisher in Minneapolis, MN.  After graduating from high school, she went on to study education at SCSU where she acquired a Bachelor’s degree. She worked for the City of St. Cloud for a number of years and then for Stearns County as a Financial Worker.  

She married Jack Riddle Jr. in 1970 and had 3 children- Charlene, Michelle, and Jack Riddle III. In later years, she met and married Valerian Gertken in 2001, and became a stepmother of his 8 children. She was widowed in 2023. 

Peggie enjoyed spending time with family and was a loving grandmother to her 9 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren, along with many step-grandchildren.  She loved taking family vacations, watching movies, quilting, and going to church. Margaret touched so many lives and had such a kind heart. In her later years she enjoyed spending time with her husband , Larry, on the farm and playing cards with their friends. 

Margaret was predeceased in death by her husband- Larry Gertken, daughter- Cheri Hennen-Winkels, Sisters- Jeanne Lyngen, Patty Suhrbier, Jackie Anderson, Carol Schaaf, and Eileen Peterson.

 She is survived by her daughter Michelle Riddle, son Jack Riddle III, grandchildren Jordan Hennen, Aubrey Neuman, Roni Hennen, Jessie Hennen, Lexi Neuman, Zack Hennen, Jacob Winkels, Job Winkels, Ava Dix, great-grandchildren Zaiden Saldana, Hunter Breault, Ezmae Saldana, and Caspian Morrow, brother Jim Fisher, and sisters Margie Ulmer, Debby Koskie. 

A Memorial/Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
