Margaret Ann Pontalion, 73, of Pittsburg, KS, passed away Tuesday, March 28, 2023 at her home. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 4th at Northland Christian Church located at 6120 NE 48th Street, Kansas City, Missouri 64119. There will be no graveside service since Margaret wished to be cremated. The family will receive guests from 3:00 p.m. until service time at the church.

Margaret was born December 4, 1949 in Independence, MO to V. Kenneth & Charlotte Lorraine (Weller) Peters. She was a 1967 graduate of Truman High School in Independence, MO. After graduation, she worked for the Internal Revenue Service until joining Trans World Airlines (TWA) in 1968. She worked 32 years as a dedicated Telemail Department employee at TWA. She met Mark Pontalion in 1975 and they wed on March 20, 1976. They welcomed their first child, Shaun, in September 1978 and their second child, Heather, in June 1980. They were blessed with grandchildren in 2000, 2004, 2005, 2007, and 2008.

She is survived by her husband, Mark Pontalion, of KS; two children, Shaun Pontalion and Heather Decker, of MO; five sisters, Darleen Knapp (Tom) of MO, Linda Wilson (Russ) of MO, Sharon Vandaveer of AZ, Annette Kaushal of KS and Robin Usher of KS; two brothers, Gene Peters (Elaine) of MO and Robert Peters (Lisa) of MO; five grandchildren, Zachary Pontalion (Gabby) of KS, Wyatt Pontalion of MO, Savannah Pontalion of MO, Carson Decker of Shanghai, China and Avriana Decker of MO; and her fur baby, Sissy of KS.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a nephew, Chad Peters; and a brother-in-law, Dave Vandaveer.
