I remember Peg. She was about two years behind me at VC, but active in Outing Club. Very likeable. Sounds like she had a great life, which doesn't surprise me.

Peg and I graduated from Vassar the same year (1969). We were not in the same dorm, took no classes together, and had very little in common. But starting when we first met by chance somewhere near the tennis courts (the day I discovered them, in fact) Peg's openness, kindness, and smiling countenance were a balm to my soul whenever she happened upon me in a time of sadness. It's hard to describe all the ways she contributed to my well-being and positive memories of our alma mater. We only spoke together a few times in those four years in Poughkeepsie, but those exchanges were insightful and precious to me. Still are, in fact.

Peg was an important friend in high school. We were both intellectual, I guess nerdy students who bonded over taking French Four together with Madame Fick and English and writing classes with Mr Chisholm. I admired Peg's smarts in Math and it meant a lot to be invited to her intellectually vibrant home and family near Lake Minnetonka. I so wish that I had kept in touch with Peg after she went off to Vasser and I went to Carleton. But I'm deeply impressed with the life she lived and the how she made the world a better place.

Dear Inder, Peg's daughters and extended family, Peg and I were fellow math majors at Vassar. I also remember visiting with her when she landed at Stanford (as I was living in the bay area and remain here). I remember how happy I was for her when I received her wedding announcement. I remember Peg as calm, stoic, and practical. I know the other math majors at Vassar remember her and join me in sending blessings to her family..

I'm so sorry about Peg's loss, and it has taken me time to find the words, given how many years it's been since I first encountered her. I still recall when, over 50 years ago, we first received a photograph of Peg at Stanford, and we were thrilled to finally meet her. It's rare to see such extraordinary selfless kindness and generosity, as she hosted us when we were children, and later, when our own children came to visit. My deepest condolences to Inder, Pamela, Stephanie, and families, through whom her loving spirit will live on.

I'm so sorry to read about Peg's passing. She is central to my memories of school days and I know she did so much behind the scenes across all our years at Sunrise Valley to support students and create community. My condolences to your family.
