Margaret's obituary

Margaret Ann Day (Osborne), lifelong Framingham resident, beloved daughter, sister, mother, and friend, passed away peacefully, in the company of family, this past Friday evening, May 19th, 2023, at the age of 56. Margie’s passing followed a nearly year-long and hard-fought battle with multiple medical issues, including, most recently, a spinal stroke. Margie’s most important role was that of Mother to her adult son Ronny, born with life-threatening medical complications, requiring the first weeks of life to be spent in neonatal intensive care. Ronny, named in honor of Margie’s beloved father, was diagnosed with Spina Bifida and related complication, requiring him to endure countless surgeries and medical procedures throughout the years at Children’s Hospital in Boston, with Margie always at his side. Prior to Ronny’s birth, Margie worked as a Medical Supply Specialist at Suburban Ostomy in Framingham and completed training to be an EMT. Margie loved to laugh, adored her pets and all animals, and loved to talk with family and friends. Margie was very open about her challenges and sought comfort in sharing them, but also had an immense capacity for showing empathy to anyone she thought was suffering or in pain. Margie’s mother, with whom she spoke nearly every day of her life, was her best friend and fiercest advocate, and never lost hope or lowered her expectations for the life she wanted for her daughter. Margie was predeceased by her beloved sister, Patricia A Osborne, her beloved father, Ronald B Osborne and her beloved grandmother, Margaret A O’Grady (Noonan), with whom she shared a very special bond. Margie is survived by her son, Ronald J Day, mother, Margaret A Osborne (O’Grady), brother, George RJ Osborne, niece, Patricia J Osborne, and nephew, Nicholas G Osborne. Margie also had many other extended family members whom she was very close with including her maternal aunt, Kathleen Chambers, her paternal uncle, Malcolm Osborne, and many other aunts, uncles, and cousins for whom she had great affection. Services will be held privately, for immediate family members, who request that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to any one of Margie’s favorite charities including: NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness), The ALS Association, and the MetroWest Humane Society in Ashland, MA.
