Margaret (Maggie, Margie, Marjorie, Mags, Margy, Aunt Nonnie) Miller-Bonato died peacefully on May 22, 2024. Beloved mother of Sarah Bonato and predeceased by her husband whom she married not just once but twice, Jerry Bonato, and her siblings Walter Miller and Marion Woodman.

She lived her life like she kept trying out yet another variation of her first name— embracing the moment and extremely determined. Margaret-Maggie-Margie-Marjorie-Mags, Margy-Aunt Nonnie loved gardening, books, classical music, her NPR,  caring for her many former pet cats, dogs and hamsters,  feeding the wildlife of Huntington Woods, ironing, vacuuming, decorating then redecorating yet again, hanging pictures and painting (walls  not portraits or landscapes) and she adored trees, all trees--including snags and invasive species.  Margaret  (Maggie, Margie, Marjorie, Mags,Margy,Aunt Nonnie) was also  a remarkable storyteller, had a  charming sense of humor and could set the prettiest dinner table  you ever saw with fresh flowers,  thrift store fine linens and china. And when she worked at JL Hudson's Infant & Children's clothing department, her gift for sales meant you would most likely buy not one, but two dead horses.   During her last years when she needed the care and goodwill from others, she very much the help she received. 

Margaret's  (Maggie's, Margie's, Marjorie's, Mags',Margy's,Aunt Nonnie's kindness and generosity to all will never be forgotten.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, September 13, 2024, at 11:00 am at St John’s Episcopal Church, 26998 Woodward Ave, Royal Oak, Michigan 48067. In lieu of flowers, a donation in her honor can be made to either WRCJ Radio https://www.wrcjfm.org/ or All About Animals Rescue https://allaboutanimalsrescue… or Toronto Cat Rescue (Canada) or the Daily Bread Food Bank (Toronto).
