Margaret Barbara (Dukes) Kapala, age 88, of Hartford, entered into eternal rest on Friday, September 2, 2022, at The Hebrew Center in West Hartford. She was born November 15, 1933, in Summerville, SC, a daughter to the late Oliver and Corrine (Jenkins) Dukes. 

She was a pastry chef for the former Maple Hill Restaraunt in West Hartford in the 1950's. She enjoyed baking, helping others, and spending time with her family. 

Margaret was preceded in death by her husband of 27 years, Walter S. Kapala; her daughter, Ann Elliott; two brothers, Daniel Dukes, Charles Dukes; and two sisters, Betty Ann Dukes, and Veronica Matthews. She is survived by her sister Anna Easterling of Bloomfield; her brother Oliver Dukes, Jr. and his wife Mary of Lithonia, GA; her grandchildren Tashanda Elliott of Tamarac, FL, and Michael Elliott of West Hartford, her great-grandchildren Alexis Pein and Ava Elliott, her niece Barbara (Dukes) Shannon of Hartford, and a host of many other family members and friends who will sadly miss her.
