Jenna's obituary
Jenna Byrnes, a woman with an infectious zest for life, built a legacy of generosity and contribution during her lifetime. Born on May 19, 1949 in Tazewell VA, she lived a full and vibrant life until her peaceful passing at home on September 9, 2024 in Gulf Breeze FL.
Jenna was known for her vivacious spirit and was truly a woman who marched to the beat of her own drum. Her laugh and smile lit up every room she entered- there was no dimming her light. Jenna’s values of empathy, social service, and open-mindedness have inspired many and will leave a lasting mark on the world.
Her life was filled with accomplishments that symbolized her love for adventure, artistic expression, and serving others. As a doting wife of 40 years, a mother of two, a world traveler, and a healer, Jenna left an indelible mark on every life she touched.
Jenna is survived by her husband Robert Byrnes, their children Ian Byrnes and Laura Byrnes, their respective spouses Xquic Byrnes and Jamie Lewis, Jenna’s grandchildren Maximon and Ixchel Byrnes, and her siblings, Gracie Lutz, Jann Clarke, Jeff, and John Barnes. She was predeceased by her brother, Frank Barnes, and her parents, Grace and George Barnes.
Jenna had a deep affection for culture and the arts, and was a regular attendee at the Pensacola Opera House and Italian Cultural Society. She was a philanthropist who gave generously to the UWF music department and other causes she believed in. This love for life and community reflected in her relationships and the kindness she showed to everyone she met.
A Celebration of Life in honor of Jenna will be held on September 27, 2024, at 5:00 PM at the Bayview Community Center. Friends, family, and those whose lives Jenna touched are invited to attend and share memories of her life.
In death as in life, Jenna Byrnes serves as a beacon of love, compassion, and generosity. Her influence will continue to inspire those who knew her well into the future.
