Background
My mom came to live with us on February 22, 2020. We removed her from a nursing home that has left a final bill of over$7,000. Medicare did not cover her full stay so now the home wants her life insurance. They want to leave me with $3,000 to bury her and take the rest to pay the bill. The policy is only $10,000. My mom thought that would be enough to bury her and her husband. I went as cheap as there was for a cremation package. This meant putting her in a cardboard box for viewing. No flowers or anything. Not even an urn for her ashes. I am waiting on a burial plot and headstone because there just isn't enough. We have to keep her home going until we sell it. It's all very overwhelming .
