Background
The Margaret E. Austin Social Work Scholarship Fund honors the life and legacy of Margaret Austin, a dedicated graduate of the University of Arkansas and a lifelong advocate for children and families. Margaret devoted nearly three decades (1977-2006) to the Arkansas Department of Human Services, Division of Children and Family Services, where she worked tirelessly to protect vulnerable children and support families in crisis.
Her compassion, integrity, and unwavering commitment to public service continue to inspire all who follow in her footsteps. This scholarship will support aspiring social workers who share Margaret's passion for service and in her belief in strengthening Arkansas communities through empathy, advocacy with high Human Intelligence acumen.
