Peggy's obituary

Margaret “Peggy” Dorothy Tapia, 74, of Brentwood, CA, passed away on February 23, 2022 after an intense, 2-year battle with cancer. Peggy was born on May 6, 1947 to Donald and Helen Healey in Aurora, IL, and graduated from West Senior High School in 1967. After graduation, she landed one of her first jobs as an operator for the phone company, which provided her with the opportunity to move to California.

In 1977, she met Raymond Tapia and they wed in 1980, going on to have 3 children, Ryan Rae Tapia, Jesse Valdez, and Angie Gentile.

When Peggy had Ryan, she decided to dedicate her life to being a fantastic and wonderful mother. Although Peggy worked full-time as an administrative assistant, she excelled and lived for being a mother, caring for and supporting all those she loved through the many passions and difficulties of their lives. Whether that was supporting her kids and family through hard times or showing up for every possible extracurricular activity she had signed her kids/grandkids up for,  she made it her mission to improve the lives of others. Peggy was a passionate reader, traveler, movie-goer, and crocheter but what she was most passionate about was being an Oma to her grandkids. We will miss her greatly. Peggy was predeceased by Donald and Helen Healey. She is survived by her husband, Raymond, children Ryan Rae, Jesse, Angie and Taylor Anne, grandchildren Isabelle, Aden, Jacob, Mikaela, Emileigh and Miles, siblings Kathleen (Tom) Abboud, Patrick (Joyce) Healey, and Timothy (Kathleen) Healey, nieces, nephews and many cousins. The family requests that all flowers and notes are sent to the family home at 224 Mountain View Drive, Brentwood, CA 94513. There will be a funeral service on Friday, March 25, 2022 at 10 o’clock at Immaculate Heart of Mary church in Brentwood, CA.
