It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Ms. Margaret Burke (Lee) on January 7, 2022. Marge was born in 1944, the daughter to the late Flora Lee (MacColl) and Jack Lee of Belmont, California.

Margaret was born and raised in San Mateo, California where she grew on living on Indian Avenue and attended both Turnbull Elementary and San Mateo HS. She was a member of the San Mateo HS class of 1962 and was often seen driving her 1958 Ford Thunderbird. Her senior yearbook described her as "This quiet, good-looking girl has been a welcome member of the class of 1962. She has been on the Rally Commission, Choir and orchestra Council, and the Medical Careers Club. One of her bobbies is that of a Junior Auxiliary member at Mills Hospital. Other interests include boating and photography". She was also voted as the most-Flashiest Dresser by her senior class.

Upon graduation, she attended the College of San Mateo and moved to Belmont. She married Richard Joeseph Aliamus and had Rick & Flora. She remarried to Stephen Burke and moved the family to the Berryessa neighborhood of San Jose where she celebrated the birth of her third child, Lonnie.

Those who knew our mother will always remember her as a warm and caring individual. She embodied kindness and compassion throughout her life, always prioritizing the needs of others. She believed in the importance of being a good person and strived to make a positive impact on those around her.

Marge was an accomplished woman. She proudly raised three successful children and built a successful career as a librarian for the Berryessa Union School District. She was a woman of many talents, but her greatest accomplishment by far was her family.

After retiring from the school district in 2001, she worked as a technical librarian for Cal Lutheran University in Thousand Oaks. Marge suffered a major stroke that sadly ended her career a few years later, and she moved to San Clemente. Flora was very helpful in bringing her to San Clemente where she lived for many years. Marge often reminisced about the many friends that she had in both San Jose, Scotts Valley, and Southern California. Marge was a real animal lover. She had many dogs and a few cats over the years that ranged from English Springer Spaniels to Shih Tzu dogs. She would often stop in the street to pat dogs and talk with their human companions.

Although her mobility was limited later in life due to a major stroke, she still managed to make friends along the way. She was a long-time resident of the Villas Retirement Resort in San Clemente. Marge would also like to be remembered by all whom she met as being a good and very kind person.

Marge is survived by her loving children. We miss her dearly, always holding fond memories of our mother close to their hearts. Her unwavering love will forever remain a beacon of comfort and strength to us.

As we mourn her loss, we also celebrate the extraordinary life she led, the people she touched, and the love she generously gave. Her memory will continue to inspire and guide us for years to come.
