Margaret's obituary

Margaret Christine (Larsen) Bloodworth, 74, of Macon, GA, passed away on November 14, 2022 at 4:00 AM due to heart failure caused by a pulmonary embolism.

Marg was born on January 13, 1948 to Einar Larsen and Beatrice (Brody) Larsen in Lansing, MI, the youngest of three siblings. She graduated from JW Sexton High School in 1965, and studied Elementary Education at Michigan State University, graduating in 1969. She graduated from Mercer University with a Master of Education in 1979, and went on to work as a teacher for many years. She touched the lives of many young people in her teaching career, particularly at Burdell Elementary School.

In 1971, Marg met Charles Bloodworth, and they married later that year in a joyous ceremony on November 27, 1971. They would go on to have one child in 1988, Abagail Elizabeth (Bloodworth) Vonderheide.

When Abagail was born, Marg decided to quit teaching and dedicate her life to being a fantastic and wonderful mother. She homeschooled Abagail for twelve years, and was an incredible and supportive teacher to her daughter, as she had been to many others. She always made it her mission to love and support everyone she met, and she took many people under her wing, serving as a loving mother figure to many more than just Abagail. She excelled at supporting those she cared about and was eternally generous, whether giving away an old car to a friend, letting friends in need stay at her home, or supporting her husband Charles through his six-month long battle with esophageal cancer and eventual death in hospice care.

Marg was a passionate animal lover, adopting and caring for many cats, dogs, birds, and ferrets throughout her life. She was also an enthusiastic cross stitcher and a lover of many kinds of crafts, filling her home with not only warmth and kindness but also beautiful art. She loved to read, and shared her love of reading with everyone she could, including her daughter and those she taught in school.

Marg was one of the kindest women ever to walk this earth, and we are all better for having known her. She was and is incredibly loved, and things will never be the same without her. Those of us she has left behind will always remember her and hold her in our hearts. May she rest in peace.

Marg was predeceased by her husband, Charles Perry Bloodworth; her brother, Christian Clark Larsen; her mother, Beatrice Lucille (Brody) Larsen; and her father, Einar Laurence Larsen. She is survived by her daughter, Abagail Elizabeth (Bloodworth) Vonderheide; her brother, Richard Stanley Larsen; and her son-in-law, Kristopher Morgan Vonderheide.

The family requests that all flowers and notes are sent to Hart's Mortuary, 765 Cherry St., Macon, GA 31201. There will be a memorial service on November 28, 2022 at 4:00 PM at Hart's Mortuary.
