Peggy's obituary
Margaret "Peggy" Loretta Bertozzi, 79, passed away peacefully on November 5, 2022 at Danbury Hospital with her beloved and devoted son by her side. Peggy was born on March 30, 1943 in Manhattan, New York to the late Irene Flannery Roew and Frederick Roew. She was the beloved wife to the late Dwight R. Bertozzi.
Peggy (or "Peg") was devoted fully to her family and friends. While assisting to care for her loving siblings, Peggy attended Brewster Central High School before sacrificing her education to work at a young age. Peggy began working at hospitals, such as Wingdale State, Southbury Training School, and Mount Kisco. Following the birth of her two children, Thomas and Darlene, she moved from various towns in New York and Connecticut before settling in Bethel, CT. Though her employment stretched wide in order to care for her children (and later grandchildren), Peggy is known for bartending at Whitlocks, Front Street, and Jonathan’s, all within Bethel. Prior to retirement, Peggy worked as a caregiver for Jamie Erwin of Redding. As a survivor of multiple years of breast cancer, Peggy will be missed by all whom were honored to know her and of those who crossed her paths.
In addition to both parents and her late husband Dwight, Peggy is predeceased by her beloved daughter, Darlene Francis Rodgers Hall, sisters Mary Ellen Trunk, Irene Trunk, and Deloris Michael.
Peggy is survived so many loved ones that will miss her dearly. Her son Thomas H. Hall, stepson Dwight R. Bertozzi, and spouse Linda. Her grandchildren, Paul T. Rodgers, Anna M. Hall, Alexander T. Hall, William R. Dixon, as well as Carly Bertozzi, Hannah Bertozzi, Rebecca Kuczko, Samantha Kuczko, David Bertozzi, and Jaqueline Bertozzi. Her siblings, Suzie Talbot, John Trunk, James “Jimmy” Trunk, and Sherri Trunk. Peggy is also survived by her treasured niece, Chrissy Talbot. Of recent, she is survived by her newborn great-grandson, Hayden. She is leaving behind a treasured companion, her poodle, Charlie.
In lieu of flowers, a silent prairie, or donations to The American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life of Greater Danbury, in which Peggy participated as a Survivor, in Peggy's name (Margaret Bertozzi) can be made at the link below.
Peggy, her compassion, strongness, willingness, and boldness, will be missed.
