I was thinking that I hadn't seen a post from Maren, I checked, and I hadn't realized that she had passed. I was Maren's advisor for her M.A. in Anthropology at New Mexico State University. I enjoyed having her in classes, working with her, and following her progress after she graduated. I'm very sorry to hear about her. As a fellow animal rescuer, I hope that someone has been able to give her cat a home. Remembering her fondly.

Condolences to the family. I’m sorry to hear of Professor Wilson’s passing, may she rest peacefully. She was such an engaged, passionate, and thoughtful person. Her presence really marked my time at CAC and I’ll always remember her smile and excitement for academia.

In 2012, Mammoth Public Library was chosen to pilot a national program to introduce science topics in rural public libraries. The program was called Pushing the Limits. I was the librarian there at the time and in addition to the readings and videos provided by the program, we had field trips, workshops, presentations, and citizen science activities. Maren (as she was known to us) did a wonderful presentation on March 9, 2013 of primate evolution using replicas of bones from archaeological digs.
