Marcos's obituary
Marcos Benjamín Larriva, 40, left us far too soon, surrounded by people who loved him more than he ever realized. He was the only son of his mom, Margarita Aguilar, and his dad, Leopoldo Larriva. He was also the only brother to Andrea Figueroa, and a proud nephew and cousin in a big, loving family that claimed him completely.
Marcos was known for that smile, the one that showed up even when life was messy, even when he was trying to be mad, and especially when he knew he was being funny. Animals adored him instantly. Dogs, cats, birds, even deer, all sensed the gentleness in him.
He was talented in so many ways. Marcos could sing, play guitar, draw, and write, and he carried a kind of playful spirit that never really faded. He brought humor, music, and a little bit of mischief wherever he went, turning ordinary moments into memories.
Marcos struggled with alcohol dependence, and he faced hard things. But that was only one part of his story. He was also a son who tried, a brother who cared, a friend who showed up, and a family member who made gatherings livelier just by being in the room.
He leaves behind Maggie, Polo, Andrea, and a wide circle of relatives and friends who loved him just as he was. We will remember his humor, his softness, his creativity, and the way he could make us laugh even on heavy days.
Marcos was imperfect, deeply human, and deeply loved, and that is how we will carry him forward.
May he save us a spot in the stars, knowing our lives are brighter because he existed.
