Marcia Arlene Gilles Hill (October 19, 1947), age 78, of Boulder, Colorado, passed away Monday, March 23, 2026. She was born Marcia Arlene Gilles in Chicago, Cook County, Illinois, to Maurice Simeon Gilles and Jane H Zychowski (Nee: Helena-Janina Zychowska). Marcia grew up surrounded by a large, extended, multilingual family, with many cousins on both her French father's and Polish mother's sides. Her family in Chicago remained a joy of her life throughout the years. She spoke often of her childhood and remembered it with deep affection. She had a lasting sense of connection to her parents, whom she missed dearly after they departed to heaven. From an early age, Marcia displayed a spirited and unmistakably unique personality, a feisty, spark-filled love for life, paired with a strong sense of independence. She graduated from Madonna, an all-girls Catholic High School in Chicago, Illinois. In the Fall of 1965, she began her studies in Communications at Southern Illinois University of Carbondale, where she developed a passion for theatre production, a field in which she would go on to make her mark. In 1967, she met the love of her life, Reginald James Hill, through a friend of hers and instantly fell in love. A romantic at heart, her favorite flower was the stargazer lily. Marcia graduated with her Bachelor's of Arts in Communications and Theatre. She continued her education in theatre, receiving her Master's degree in Theatre Production in January of 1972.
