Marcella's obituary
Marcella "ADT" Roberts, also affectionately known as ADT, passed away on the 4th of October, 2024. Born on May 28, 1958, Marcella personified warmth and caring, creating a lasting impact on all those privileged to have known her.
Marcella graduated from Lincoln High San Diego, CA in 1976. Her professional journey in the hospitality sector began in 1980 when she joined Grant Hotel's hospitality department in Berkeley, CA. Through hard work and dedication, she advanced to the position of supervisor. In 1985, she lent her expertise to the San Diego airport as a TSA agent, again demonstrating her leadership skills by working her way up to supervisor. Her tenure as a security officer at Horton Plaza, beginning in 1988, also concluded with her as a supervisor, enforcing her reputation for tenacity and diligence.
Marcella had a particular affinity for certain foods, shows, and colors. She loved Cabbage and Greens, and her preferred television show was "Everybody Loves Raymond." A loyal supporter of the San Diego Prades, Marcella's passion for her favorite sports teams was unwavering. She cherished vacationing in Las Vegas and had a predilection for the color Red.
Marcella is survived by her mother, Mozell Johnson. Her dear siblings, brother Ronnie Johnson and sisters Brenda Robinson and Ozella Davis, will continue to keep her memory alive. Her daughters, Antoinette La Bran/Morris, and her grandchildren, Gerald Lemont Edison, Hasani Dewitt, Jaxson Edison, and Josiah Edison, will sorely miss her. She is also survived by nieces Christina Johnson/Agee, Juanakee Jones/Cooper, Givonni Neabors, Tyara Johnson, and Jenae Quinn, and her nephew, Christopher Miller. Marcella was predeceased by her father, Willie Floyd Johnson.
