Manuel's obituary
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Manuel Romero Quijano . Manuel, a beacon of joy and faith, was born on February 24, 1960, and departed from this world on October 3, 2024.
Manuel leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion in the hearts of his family. His beloved wife, Vilma Romero, daughters Vilma Barbosa, Jenny Romero, and Vanessa Romero, sons Josue Romero and Manuel Romero, cherish his memory. His spirit lives on in his grandchildren: Isaiah Romero, Michelle Lazo, Rebeca Lazo, Kayla Lazo, Gabriel Lazo, Isavella Barbosa, and Joshua Romero-Acosta.
A man of deep faith and unwavering love for God, Manuel's life was a testament to the transformative power of belief, with the words of John 11:25-26 ever present in his heart, "Jesus said to her, 'I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die.'"
Manuel's vibrant personality was infectious and made him a favorite among friends and family. His happiness and outgoing nature were always visible, especially when he was enjoying his favourite music, Christian salsa and Cumbia. Manuel found pleasure in singing and embarked on several missionary trips to Central America, showing his deep-rooted commitment to helping others. He had a deep fondness for El Salvador, where he was Born.
Throughout his life, Manuel remained committed to his causes, particularly Missionary trips to Central America. He was a passionate advocate for putting God first, loving your family, and caring for the sick and the elderly. One of his greatest accomplishments was providing a better life for his family by bringing them to Canada. His enduring legacy will be his exemplary generosity and unwavering dedication to helping others.
A burial for Manuel will be held at Surrey Centre Cemetery 16670 60 Ave, Surrey, BC V3S 1S9 on November 14, 2024, at 2:00 PM.
A memorial service will be held earlier that day at Broadway Church 2700 E Broadway, Vancouver, BC V5M 1Y8 at 10:45 AM.
Manuel's life was a testament to the power of love, faith, and resilience. His memory will serve as a guide for us as we navigate the journey of life without him. May his soul rest in Paradise.
