Mansuk's obituary
Mansuk “Sue” Paek Gotsios, passed into glory at the age of 73 on September 3, 2024, surrounded by her family, at her home in Spotsylvania, Virginia.
Mansuk was born in Gunsan Korea in 1951. After finishing high school, she served in the Korean Army as a nurse where she achieved the rank of First Lieutenant. She immigrated with her family to the United States in 1976, and settled in Maryland. In 1982, she married Vasilios “Billy” Gotsios, a merchant marine from Trikala, Greece. After the birth of their first child, Elizabeth, they moved to Billy’s hometown in Greece, where Mansuk had their second child, Athansios. In 1987, they moved back to the United States, where they settled in Virginia. In Virginia, Mansuk worked for the US Post Office for over 20 years, until her retirement in 2013.
Mansuk was known for her love of traveling, gardening, and exploring parks. More than all else, she was known for her passion in caring for her family.
She was preceded in death by her father Bokyim Paek and mother Namdal Paek. Mansuk leaves behind her husband, Vasilios “Billy” Gotsios; her daughter Elizabeth Gotsios, and grand-daughter Gwendolyn Bowman; her son Athanasios Gotsios; her sisters Sunmyo Paek, Sunae Ko, Sunhyo Paek, Malja Paek, and Sunyong Jung; and her brother Manki Paek.
A funeral service will take place on September 14th at Providence Presbyterian Church in Fairfax, Virginia, at 9 a.m. A graveside service will follow at Fairfax Memorial Park Cemetery at 10 a.m.
