Mama Regina's obituary
Mama Shelly Regina Che was born September 5th, 1946, and died December 15th, 2022.
Mami was a loving mother, grandmother, friend, sister, aunt, and wife. She led a selfless life making sure everyone else was comfortable, even at the expense of her comfort.
Mama was a dietitian by profession and was dedicated to helping her patients follow healthy lifestyles, have proper diets, and manage diseases such as diabetes. She created healthy recipes for her patients. Throughout her life, she actively served in the church by providing for orphans, visiting the sick and the dying, and bringing the Eucharist to the sick. She loved to attend daily mass as she enjoyed walking to church. Mama was a devoted member of the Focolare Movement and led others to follow the teachings of Bruno Groening. She was always ready to help others who were in need.
As a member of the second class at her Alma Mater, Saker Baptist College, Limbe, she remained actively involved in the ex-student association – Sakerettes. She was also a devoted member of premier supportive organizations like Mother Is Gold – Cameroon and ‘Ngware.’
Mami Regie was as kind as she was illustrious. With her entrepreneurial spirit, she was into product marketing, soap making, commercial baking, and, most recently, ONPASSIVE, as she tried to get everyone she knew to participate. As her grandchildren fondly called her, Grandma was an active walker and would exercise every chance she got.
Our mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend will be missed dearly. She will especially be missed by her grandchildren, whom she cared for deeply. Three children and eight grandchildren survive her. To honor Mama, please reflect on some of her favorite quotes below and say a prayer:
“Live in the present moment….”
“Think Good, Talk Good, and Do Good”
