We spent thirteen years together—years that were filled with passion, complexity, and undeniable intensity. Our time was never quiet, never dull. It was fiery, fun, and at times, too much for either of us to hold onto. But it was real.
Maile was a force. She felt everything deeply—love, pain, joy, struggle. She carried more than most ever knew, battling demons that too often pulled her away from peace. Still, in the midst of it all, she had a light. When it shone, it lit up everything around her.
Though our paths diverged, I never stopped hoping she’d find the calm she deserved. That somewhere along the way, she’d discover the gentleness and rest that eluded her for so long.
My heartfelt condolences go out to Nancy, Rachel, and to the entire Langer, Whitmire and Noyes families. I know your loss is profound, and I share in your grief. May her memory live on in the love you carry for her, and in the moments of light she brought to your lives.
I hope now, wherever she is, she’s found that peace. I hope she feels free.
Rest well, Mai. You were never forgotten.
