Maija Liisa Nenonen (2000 - 2022) passed away suddenly on April 11, 2022. She was just 21 years old when she was called to heaven.

Maija was radiant, both inside and out. Her light shone brightly during her short time on earth. She was full of energy, always looking to have new experiences. Maija was dazzlingly beautiful, with a smile that melted every heart. She was a truly special young woman in the prime of her life, when her life was suddenly cut short.

Maija was a first year student at the Ivey School of Business at Western University. She completed high school at St. Mary's College in Sault Sainte Marie. Throughout her life, Maija put her family above all else. She loved her friends, loved to socialize and meet new people. She enjoyed fashion and photography and was a talented dancer.

Maija's life was lost in a terrible incident on Monday, April 11, 2022. As she was crossing a parking lot on her way to the library, she was struck by a vehicle pulling a trailer. She was knocked to the ground and then, tragically, she went under the wheels. We pray that beautiful Maija felt no pain or fear in her final moments of life.

Visitation of Maija will take place at Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Road) on Tuesday, April 19, 2022 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. A funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, April 20, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Gregory’s Church. All family and friends are invited. Please help us remember Maija's beautiful spirit.
