Maia Turnbull, 45, of Westminster, CO, passed away on March 07, 2023 after a long battle with cancer.

Maia was born on August 9th of 1977 to her parents Ron and Monika Barnes in Marshalltown, Iowa. Maia grew up in Marshalltown and lived there for most of her life. She graduated from Marshalltown High School. Shortly before graduating, Maia got pregnant with her first child and started her family, having her 3 children Briona (oldest), Kanaan (middle) and Trevian (youngest). When Maia had Briona, she was only 19 years old. Although she was very young, she did everything she could to be a good mother and provide a loving, caring environment for all of her children, and any other children that she came into contact with. Maia was so great at listening and being there for others, supporting them through the many passions and difficulties of their lives. Maia had a smile that lit up a room. Her happiness was contagious and she effortlessly improved the lives of others, just by being herself.  Maia was not a materialistic person by any means. Her life was all about giving and caring for others. She was the type of person to give you the shirt off of her back if you needed it. We will all miss her so very much.  Maia is predeceased by her parents Ronald and Monika Barnes, grandparents Raymond and Barbara Barnes and grandfather Ernst Rauba. She is survived by her children, Briona Turnbull, Kanaan Turnbull, and Trevian Turnbull, her grandchild Emeress Orr, her Ex- Husband and father of her children Adan Turnbull, her siblings Corine Neal (children Rayshaun and Ravyn) and Travis Barnes (wife Ann and daughter Addy), step mother Toni Barnes; her Grandmother Helga Rauba, cousins Danielle, Blair, Brooke and Brianna; Aunts Cord and Carmen, Uncle Robert, Aunt Linda, cousins Amanda and John and many more cousins and dear friends.  If you would like to help the family with expenses, please send donations via Venmo to @Corine-Neal or mail to Corine Neal at 809 S 7th Ave Marshalltown IA 50158 in lieu of flowers.  There will be a Celebration of life on Thursday March 16th at 11:00 AM at The Crossing Church of the Nazarene 3501 West 104th Avenue, Westminster, CO 80031.
