Our favourite memories of grandma are her letters, birthday cards, Christmas and back-to-school presents. Mum would phone her from the red public phone with pre-loaded international call credits. Malaysia was far and we couldn't afford the airplane tickets then were so expensive and long distance travel was not as convenient as nowadays. But, we always knew that Grandma's birthday cards includes a nice amount of money. :)
