Magdelene's obituary
Maggie Terrell was called to her heavenly home on March 6 th ,
2024, while surrounded by her loving family,
Magdlene Rose was born on November 10 th , 1933, in Chicago,
IL to John and Carrie (Fowler) Danda. The family moved to
Michigan, ND when Maggie was a young girl-first living on a
farm and then moving into the town where they lived above the
Michigan dairy. She attended school in Michigan, ND through
the 8 th grade. Then, the family moved to Portland, OR where she
attended high school. Following her graduation from high
school, Maggie went to North Dakota, staying at her
grandparent’s farm. While there she was introduced to Donald
Behm at a house party; they were later married and blessed
with six wonderful children. They were married for 15 years
before they divorced in 1967.
While working at the Alma’s It Café in Grand Forks, ND, Maggie
met Cecil Terrell, a USAF airman. They married and moved the
family to the Great Falls Air Force Base in Montana, where she
was blessed with one more wonderful child.
From there the family moved to Vandenburg AFB in California
until Cecil retired from the Airforce in 1980 and moved to
Washington State. There, Maggie got a job at Ernst Home and
Garden and trained to be a master gardener.
Following their retirements in 1996, Maggie and Cecil sold their
home and hit the road in their RV! For 12 years they lived in
their motor home and traveled all around the country, covering
49 out of the 50 states before Cecil fell ill and they returned to
Enumclaw.
Following Cecil’s death in 2009, Maggie lived in the Auburn-
Enumclaw area. She enjoyed time with friends at her wine club
and stayed very active in her church, Hillside Community. She
will forever be missed by all those that knew and loved her.
Maggie is survived by six children: Bonnie (Rod) Thompson,
Darcie Hautzinger, Dan (Vicki) Behm, Mike (Carmen) Behm,
Kim (Bill) Stromberg, Andy (Kristi) Terrell; 22 grandchildren, 31
great-grandchildren; sisters: Shirley Ann Blanch and Judie
Danda; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. She was
preceded in death by her loving husband Cecil, a son, Floyd
Behm, a granddaughter, Elizabeth Behm, a son-in-law, Mark
Hautzinger, her parents, and a sister, Angie West.
