It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved grandmother, Mae L. Willett, who departed peacefully on Wednesday, September 13, to return to her heavenly home with Christ. She was 86 years old.
Mae, known affectionately to many as "Mama Mae," was born on May 10, 1937, to Jimmy Lee and Eldora Edmonds in Coldwater, Mississippi. She was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend to all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Mama Mae lived a life deeply rooted in faith and devotion to the Lord. Her unwavering faith served as a source of inspiration to many and her life was a testament to her Christian values of love, compassion, and selflessness.
Throughout her life, Mama Mae touched the lives of countless individuals with her kindness and generosity. She had a warm smile that could brighten the darkest of days and a heart that overflowed with love for her family. She was a true matriarch, and her home was a place of comfort, laughter, and unconditional love.
Mama Mae is survived by her loving family, including:
Jacquelyn Coleman, her cherished daughter and best friend who shared a lifetime of memories and love with her.
Her two adoring grandchildren, Ashley Coleman Abbate and Amber Coleman; and her adored grandson-in-law, Justin Abbate.
She is also survived by her beloved niece, Patricia Cleaton.
Mama Mae will be fondly remembered for her amazing cooking and infectious smile, which she enjoyed sharing with her family and friends. She brought joy to those around her and will be cherished in our hearts forever.
