Kellie's obituary

Mae "Kellie" Frances Olson, 74, passed away on June 8, 2023, in Sacramento, CA. She was born Mae Francis Littlefield on March 2, 1949, in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, to James Francis Littlefield and Nellie Mae Littlefield. The family moved to San Francisco, California, in the early 1950s, where Kellie attended Westmore High School in Daly City until moving to Redwood City, CA, where she attended Sequoia High School until her junior year.

Kellie was married several times throughout her life. She married James R Kelly III, a Marine, in January 1966, and they had a son, James R Kelly IV, later that year. Unfortunately, James R Kelly III passed away in March 1967, and two months later, Kellie gave birth to her second son, Sean Kelly. Kellie married Steven Latt in 1971, and they had a son, John Latt, in September of that year. The marriage ended in divorce. Kellie was married to Robert Joslin from 1975 until his death in 2006. She later married Gary Olson in 2009, and they lived happily, traveling the USA in their RV and sharing life's journeys and experiences. Unfortunately, Gary passed away in December 2021.

Kellie was a bookkeeper/office manager and in-home health caregiver. She was a devoted Wife, Mom, Grandmother, and friend. She had a kind spirit to all she met. Kellie loved without exception, and her blue eyes and bright smile drew people to her. She was always ready with a laugh, a hug, and a kind shoulder, and an ear for those in need. Kellie loved to dance, especially to "oldies but goodies." She loved the outdoors and took great pride in her garden and her lovely home. Kellie loved animals and was continuously surrounded by two or three dogs and cats by her side. She fostered and adopted many stray pets and nursed them back to health, ultimately ending up with a houseful of fur babies. She loved desserts, especially vanilla ice cream and chocolate syrup. Kellie hated to cook, but she did it well. She loved the SF Giants, and NASCAR.

Kellie is survived by her son, James R Kelly IV and his spouse Victor, son Sean Kelly and his partner Tiffany, and son John Latt and his spouse Sue, and stepson Michael Olson who provided great care to her. She is also survived by grandchildren Taylar, Austin, Nicole, and Breanna, great grandchildren Rhett and Leo, and her niece, Jaimie Littlefield. She was preceded in death by her parents, James Francis Littlefield and Nellie Mae Littlefield, and her brothers, Eddie Littlefield and Richard "Montgomery" Littlefield.

As Kellie was not affiliated with any church, and had her own relationship with God and her beliefs, no services are planned at this time. A celebration of life will be scheduled in the future. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to your local animal charity or the American Cancer Society.
