Madeliene's obituary

Madeliene Anne Evans, 91, Souderton PA, a long-time Bucks County resident who spent 10 years in Sun City West AZ, died suddenly at Grandview Hospital, Sellersville, PA. Mrs. Evans was born February 1, 1930, and was raised in the Rockledge- Abington area of Philadelphia, PA. Madeliene, also known as Mitzi, was the daughter of Edward Howard Booz and Madeline Lydia (Urban ) Booz. Madeliene was the middle child with two brothers, Howard and Edward. Madeliene attended 12 years of schooling at Abington Friends and, in 1951, graduated from Keystone Jr College located in, Wyoming County Pennsylvania. At Keystone, she learned to be a medical secretary and was on the cheerleading squad. A year or two after graduation, she married William D. Evans and settled in and around Doylestown, PA. Always the devoted mother and homemaker, she is survived by her sons William Bruce Evans, Ronald Kieth Evans, the late Douglas Edward Evans, and her grandson William Tyler Evans.

Ahead of her time, in the 1970s, Mitzi owned and operated the MeToo store in Stroudsburg, PA, and was later co-owner and co-founder of the Topsy Turvy Stores and gift shops in the Bethlehem, PA. Madeliene enjoyed astrology, often helping others in coping with their life-changing events. Mitzi possessed the glamor of Hollywood yet took motherhood seriously. She is best described as a superstar! In the eyes of one of many suitors, she was "The Mitz."
