Madalyn's obituary
Madalyn Camille Worley, 76, of Gilbert, Arizona passed away peacefully on May 11, 2024.
Madalyn was born on August 5, 1947 in Chicago, Illinois to the late Samuel, Sr and the late Josephine Canino where she lived until the family moved to River Grove, Illinois .
Throughout her life in Illinois, in addition to working, Madalyn was involved in the River Grove School PTA during her daughter's younger years and was also involved in many other clubs to include embroidery, sewing, book clubs, Women’s clubs and Bible study. She was an avid collector of all things Snoopy and Peanuts Character memorabilia. When Madalyn moved to Arizona, she became a resident of an Independent Senior community where she enjoyed her last few years making many lasting memories. Her loving smile and generous spirit were always the life of the party.
She was affectionately known as “Nana” to her five loving grandchildren , MIL to her Son-in- Laws and “Auntie Gin” to her nieces and her nephews. She was the most loving mother to her daughters and “Dog mom” to her sweet Schnauzer, Belle.
Madalyn’s greatest accomplishments were both of her daughters, Jolee and Dana, whom she deeply loved along with her grandchildren, Julia, Ella, Jenna, Will and Aidan.
Madalyn is survived by her two daughters, Jolee (Jeffrey) Degnan and Dana (Daniel) Darrah and her loving grandchildren: Julia and Jenna Degnan and Ella ,Will and Aidan Darrah.
Madalyn was also the loving Aunt to many nieces and nephews and had many cherished friendships throughout her entire life.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her three brothers, the late Ralph and Marion Canino, the late Robert and Dolores Canino and the late Samuel, Jr “Buddy” Canino and is survived by her loving sister-in-law, Sharon Canino, “Buddys” wife.
A Celebration of Life will be planned in the near future.
