Lynne's obituary

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Lynne Stimson, beloved wife, daughter, mother, nana, sister, cousin, aunt and friend, on December 8, 2024, at the age of 66. Lynne passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family.

Lynne was born to Pat and Len Stimson and shared a deep and enduring bond with her mother throughout her life. As Pat’s primary caregiver, Lynne devoted herself to ensuring her mother’s well-being, exemplifying the compassion and selflessness that defined her character. She was also preceded in death by her father, Len Stimson, and two brothers, Len Stimson and Bob Stimson, all of whom she cherished deeply.

Lynne was a devoted wife to her husband, William Fawell, and a loving mother to her two daughters, Alexandria (Lexy) Hawkins and Alysha Hawkins. She was also preceded in death by her cherished son, Tyler Hawkins, whose memory she carried with her every day. She is survived by her ex-husband, Lennie Hawkins, the father of her children, with whom she shared many years of family life and remained best friends.

Later in life, Lynne found love and companionship with her second husband, William Fawell. Their marriage brought Lynne great joy, and she treasured the time they spent together.

Above all, Lynne’s greatest joy was being a Nana. She adored her grandchildren, Brooklyn and Kayden, and took immense pride in showering them with love, laughter and endless support. Her role as a Nana brought her profound joy and she created lasting memories that will forever be treasured by them.

Lynne was also a successful businesswoman who ran a flourishing gift basket business for many years. She poured her creativity into every project, able to craft anything with her hands. Her talent, attention to detail and passion for bringing joy to others made her business a tremendous success.

A true freedom fighter, Lynne was deeply passionate about her rights and freedoms. She never shied away from speaking her mind and standing firm in her beliefs, earning the respect of those around her for her courage and determination.

Lynne had a lifelong love for animals and shared her home with many pets over the years. She was especially devoted to her dogs and while she recently said goodbye to her beloved Maddie, who passed shortly after Lynne, she leaves behind her loyal dog, Freedom and cats Boo Boo and Cassy who will miss her dearly.

Lynne’s kindness, warmth, and unwavering love made her the heart of her family. She was a pillar of strength, offering wisdom, encouragement and boundless support to everyone she encountered. Her legacy of love, creativity and devotion will continue through her children, grandchildren and all those who were touched by her.

In addition to her immediate family, Lynne leaves behind a wide circle of friends and extended family who will forever hold her memory close. Her life was one of service, love and devotion and her presence will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Lynne’s light will continue to shine in the hearts of those who loved her.

A celebration of life will be held in Lynne’s honour.
