Lynne Brandenburg Foster, born April 13, 1949, in Burlington, NC, to the late Jeannette and Frank Brandenburg, passed away at age 69 on July 16, 2018. She had been receiving treatment for AL amyloidosis, a rare disorder that damaged her heart. She died quietly in her sleep.

Lynne was the beloved wife of Buck Foster. They were married for 48 years. She is survived by her brother, Robert Brandenburg; nieces, Amy Shelton, Kathy Forde, and Julie Mitchell; nephew, Matt Battle; and grand-nieces and -nephew Zada Forde, Abby Shelton, and Chris Shelton. She also leaves behind her dog, Presley.

Before retiring with Buck to Brevard, NC, she managed Dr. Jim Eaker's dental office for 25 years in Durham, NC, where she enjoyed a rich life of clogging around the state with her much-loved team the Carolina Heartland Cloggers; watching Buck play softball; doing arts and crafts with her many friends; square dancing with Buck; and helping raise Zada, who lovingly called her "Nana."

Lynne loved life, family, and friends. Buck describes her as "one of the most worthwhile, caring and loving people I have known. She made those who came into contact with her feel good about themselves and the human condition generally." Hers was a life well-lived, with love, purpose, humor, and a profound sense of service to others.

In Brevard, Lynne enjoyed playing the dulcimer, knitting, weaving, painting, volunteering, and being the best Nana ever. She was assistant manager of Transylvania Farmer’s Market; a volunteer at Transylvania Visitor’s Center, Land of Waterfalls; and a member of Sit & Stitch, a spirited group of crafty friends at Deerlake Village.

Friends and family are warmly invited to attend a special gathering honoring her life on Monday, July 23, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Deerlake Village Clubhouse, Deerlake Road, Brevard, NC 28712.
