Lynnaya's obituary
Lynnaya Charap, a fiercely independent, beloved schoolbus driver, mother, sister and daughter whose kindness genuinely knew no bounds, passed away Sunday September 7th in Rochester NY. Surrounded by family, she became an angel from metastatic cancer at 59 years old. Born on September 28th, 1965 in San Diego CA, Lynnaya traversed the country with father Larry, mother Sheryll and siblings Daryl and Natasha to grow up in Upper Township and become a South Jersey Legend. Devoting 20 + years to her work as a school bus driver, safely ferrying generations of children, she was known for her endless generosity and quick wit. There was no stranger to Lynnaya. She had the kind of magic that made people open up and feel safe around her, the embodiment of a true friend to humanity and a rare force for good.
Lynnaya’s greatest joy was her family, who meant everything to her. She is survived by her beloved daughter, Sarita Charap of Ithaca, New York and Sarita’s fiancé Dan Peluso, her devoted sister, Natasha Sinclair of Sarasota, Florida and Natasha’s husband, Christopher Sinclair and her caring brother, Daryl Charap of Columbia, South Carolina and Daryl’s wife Sedra Charap and stepmother Dolores Charap of Mays Landing, New Jersey. Though her time on earth was too short, Lynnaya’s life was defined by the love she gave as evidenced through her many impactful relationships. A hardworking woman and devout follower of Christ, her earthly duties may have ended however, heavenly duties call.
A private family service will be held to honor her life. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to a cancer research foundation of your choice and condolences sent to her daughter, Sarita.
