Lynn's obituary
It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Lynn Robertson, a mother, sister, and grandmother, on Mother's Day May 12, 2024, in North Highlands, CA. Lynn was born on December 23, 1946 in Hallock, MN. Lynn passed peacefully after a long battle with Alzheimer's.
Lynn leaves behind to sons, Sean Robertson and his wife Christine Garcia of Carmichael, CA and Craig Robertson of Matthews, NC; her sister, Julie Meriwether and her husband Tom Meriwether of Chico, CA. She adored her granddaughters, Hannah Robertson of Charlotte, NC and Avery Robertson of Matthews, NC. Lynn was predeceased by her father, Leroy Christensen, and mother Doris Christensen, who loved and guided her throughout her early years.
Lynn was originally from Lancaster, MN and often spoke with fond memories of her time spent with her family and friends in MN. She later moved with her family from MN to Riverside, CA where she graduated from Polytechnic High School, before briefly attending San Jose State University.
Lynn was an accomplished woman, graduating from Long Beach State University with a B.A. in Home Economics in 1981. She was passionate about teaching and shared her knowledge with her students at Esparto High School from 1986 - 1988, and at Durham High School from 1988 - 1992.
Upon leaving the world of teaching, Lynn utilized her skills and culinary talents to establish The Noble Iris Catering in Chico, CA and later served as the Food Service Director for the Carmel Unified School District in California, where she retired in 2007. Her love for food was evident in both her professional life and her personal tastes; pies being one of her absolute favorites.
In her free time, Lynn enjoyed playing cards, even though she rarely could remember the rules; her favorite recreational activity was dragging her two sons on tent camping and beach trips, and she reveled in the serenity of the great outdoors.
We remember Lynn as a loving mother, educator, business owner, and a woman of resilience. Her legacy will live on in the hearts of those she has left behind.
