Lynn's obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Lynn Parks, a treasured member of our community who came into this world on February 27, 1977, and left us all too soon on October 22, 2024. Renowned for her quick wit and outgoing personality, Lynn brought laughter and joy to all who had the pleasure of her company.

Lynn's love for her family was paramount. She is survived by her beloved mother, Patty Williams; her daughters, Amy Farmer and Jessica Burnopp; her son, Adam Parks; her siblings, April Gill, Johnny Mabe, and Eden Parks; and her grandsons, Carter and Noah Burnopp. She was predeceased by her father, Johnny Mabe, and grandparents, Ree and Robert Mitchem, and Earl Blankenship. Her family will remember her as a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and daughter whose greatest accomplishments were her children and grandsons.

In 1997, Lynn found her home in Harlan, KY, a close-knit community where her vibrant presence will be dearly missed. She had a passion for crafting, which brought her much joy and allowed her to express her unique creativity. Her favorite vacation spot was Myrtle Beach, where she enjoyed the sun on her face, the sand beneath her feet, and the serene sound of ocean waves.

Among the myriad of causes she cared for, Lynn had a particular soft spot for her cherished feline companions, Sass and Frass. Her love for these creatures was emblematic of her kind and caring nature and her ability to find joy in life’s simple pleasures.

While we mourn her loss, we should also celebrate her life, her accomplishments, and the immense love she had for her family and friends. May her laughter, fun-loving spirit and the memories we have of her comfort us as we remember Lynn Parks.

Keeping with her wishes, there will be no services.  She will be laid to rest in the Mabe Family Cemetery in Honaker, VA.
