Lynn's obituary

It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Mrs. Lynn Franklin. Born on June 26, 1950, Lynn graced our lives with her unwavering spirit and steadfast love until her departure on February 8, 2024.

Lynn was born to Josephine and Herbert Hopman and was raised alongside her brothers, George, Ronnie, and Roger Hopman. She was predeceased by her parents and brother Roger, but her brothers George and Ronnie continue to honor her memory. Lynn attended Salem High School, graduating in 1968 and thereafter, found her soulmate, Nelson Franklin, to whom she was married in 1971. The couple was blessed with two lovely daughters, Tracy Thompson and Heather Hinchman.

Lynn was a beacon of strength and determination in her professional life, starting a job at C. Harrell Trucking in 1999 and retiring from the same company in 2016. Despite her professional commitments, Lynn always made time for her family and was exceedingly proud of her grandchildren, James Thompson Jr, Miranda Bratton, Andrew Datz, Ryan Hinchman, and Chase Hinchman

Known for her selfless, nurturing, witty, strong, funny, and sassy personality, Lynn was a lover of life. She was a fan of the Eagles and the Phillies, a formidable player of Mahjong, Zuma, and Solitaire, and found solace in Dean Koontz and James Patterson's novels. Her favorite TV shows were "The Voice" and "NCIS", but her favorite performances to watch were her grandchildren playing sports. Simple pleasures brought great joy to Lynn. She loved unsweetened tea and Dunkin’ iced coffee, and found contentment in cooking, baking, reading and bird watching.

Aligned with her nurturing nature, Lynn cared deeply for the ASPCA and was a strong advocate for cancer research. She herself battled and conquered breast cancer twice, along with uterine and skin cancer, reflecting her unfaltering strength and determination.

Lynn leaves behind a legacy of abundant love and kindness. Her lessons to never give up, and to treat others the way you want to be treated, will continue to guide and inspire her family. She was the rock of the family, and her absence will be deeply felt. Yet, we take comfort in knowing that her resilient spirit and loving memory will forever be a part of our lives.
