Lynn's obituary
Lynn Morgan Butler, 74, of Carrollton, Texas, passed away on December 28 surrounded by family and loved ones. Lynn was born on May 18, 1951 to Bedford and Elsie Butler.
Lynn was a dedicated husband, brother, father, uncle, grandfather and great grandfather. He spent his career helping others as a respiratory therapist, first at Methodist Hospital Dallas, then later at Children’s Medical Center as evening shift supervisor and later as assistant director of respiratory therapy before transferring to Presbyterian Hospital of Plano where he was the director of respiratory therapy, starting the department when the hospital opened, and ending his career by working for Peter Schochet, MD for 20 years. Outside of work, Lynn had a passion for reading, photography, feeding the birds, and the 49ers, and was an amazing cook (anyone who has ever had his fried chicken can attest to this, especially the attendees of several softball team dinners, youth group dinners, and even one wedding rehearsal dinner). He was loved by all who met him for his warm personality and sense of humor.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers Keith and JJ. He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Becky Butler, his children, Chris Butler (wife Christi), Morgan Butler (wife Jakeeya) and Madi Butler, his grandchildren, Catelyn Butler, Jade Halford (husband Chase), Andrew Veney, Nova Butler-Veney and Leilani Butler-Veney, his great grandchildren, Caynon Butler and Arya Halford, and sisters, Sherry Woodard (husband James) and Karen Armstrong (husband Cecil) and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, uncles, and aunts.
Lynn will be deeply missed but his love and spirit will live on in the hearts of all those who knew him.
