Lynda's obituary

Lynda Elizabeth Graybill Simmons was born November 26th 1943 in Houston, Texas to her parents Warren Graybill & Marion Sledge Graybill.

Lynda attended Baylor University & later graduated from the University of Houston in 1967. She passionately worked as an Elementary School Teacher & Music Teacher as well as an Intermediate School Counselor in Pasadena, Texas for over 35 years.

Lynda married her love, Joe Simmons, on August 23rd 1963 and they were blessed with three sons. As faithful members of Sagemont Church in Pasadena, Texas for over 50 years, they raised their family, served the Lord and gained lifelong friendships.

After a hard fought battle with Alzheimer's over the last 9 years, Lynda passed peacefully in her sleep on December 5th 2024; joining her parents and other loved ones in Heaven, as our new Angel above.

Lynda is survived by her loving husband, Joe Simmons; treasured sister, Carolyn Graybill; son, Ken Simmons, his wife Casey Simmons; son, Rob Simmons, his wife Diane & son, Spencer; and son, Clint Simmons, his wife Rachel & two sons, Boston & Hawkins; sister-in-law, Ricca Simmons Schammerhorn and husband David. Her memory and legacy will continue on eternally in all of our hearts.

A Memorial Service will be held in Lynda's honor on Saturday, January 11th at 1:00PM at Sagemont Church located at 11300 South Sam Houston Parkway in Houston, Texas 77089.
