Lynda Bowman McDaniel, age 79, passed away on November 22, 2024, in Dayton, TN. Born on May 6,1945, Lynda devoted her life to her family, career, and community, leaving an indelible mark of kindness and generosity.
Lynda graduated from Red Bank High School and furthered her education at UT-Chattanooga, Covenant College, and Nashville School of Law. She built a distinguished career with the State of Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development, eventually becoming the Director of Appeals. Additionally, she was the owner of Dispute Mediation Services, where she mediated with wisdom and fairness.
She was a committed member of St Bridget Catholic Church in Dayton, TN, and Church of the Assumption in Nashville, TN. Lynda was deeply involved in her church communities, often baking sugar free items for church bake sales and knitting charitable hats for newborns.
Her hobbies reflected her love for life and people. Lynda cherished moments spent by the ocean, enjoyed reading, watching court dramas and mysteries, and traveling.
Lynda leaves behind a loving family: her husband of 60 years, Douglas McDaniel; daughters Teresa(Tommy) Haymon, Melissa(Jason) Yoesting, and Kathryn McDaniel; sister Lesa(Dan) West; grandchildren Shaun Teague, Michelle Teague, and Tiffany(Eric) Etheridge; great grandchildren Aiden Smith, Leah Smith, and Kylee Smith; niece April(Jon) Hale; nephews Chris(Mandy) Hester, Michael(Tammy) Hester, and Matthew(Jessica) McGinnis. She is preceded in death by her parents W. Eugene and Thelma Joyce Bowman; siblings Terry Bowman, Denise Padilla, and Kim McGinnis and nephew Grant King.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, American Stroke Association, and American Diabetes Association, reflecting her lifelong commitment to charitable causes.
