Lyman's obituary
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Lyman Warfield, who left this world peacefully on July 17, 2025. Born on December 31, 1948, Lyman led a life full of kindness, devotion, and warmth that touched the hearts of many.
He leaves behind his beloved spouse, Nancy Warfield, his caring siblings, sister Judith Mojadidi and brother George Warfield. He was predeceased by his loving mother, Mary Armstrong. Lyman's memory will continue to live on through those lucky enough to have known him.
A proud graduate of Glenbrook South High School in 1966, Lyman held many passions close to his heart throughout his life. His favorite foods could be described simply as salty and sweet, and he held a particular fondness for Diet Coke. A fan of classic westerns, sci-fi, and comedy television shows, he also held a special place in his heart for the Star Wars franchise.
Lyman was an ardent sports enthusiast, faithfully cheering on the White Sox, Cubs, Bears, and Black Hawks. He found joy in playing cards, Scrabble, and tackling word puzzles. A fan of musical theater, he often found himself captivated by performances he would watch.
Beyond his hobbies, Lyman indulged in recreational activities like golfing, bowling, and travel. His favorite vacation spot was the beautiful islands of Hawaii. It was these simple pleasures that defined Lyman's laid-back and loving nature.
Lyman was widely known for his devoted, kind, and caring personality. He embodied the philosophy of the Golden Rule throughout his life and taught the importance of treating others with kindness and respect. His legacy is one of kindness and grace that will continue to inspire those who knew him.
Lyman was a man who always went beyond himself for others and tried his utmost to please those he cared about. His passing marks the end of an extraordinary life, but his spirit will continue to live on in our hearts. He will be deeply missed.
