My favorite memories of Uncle Lyle, when I was little he would count my freckles which always made me believe I was special. He would tell the best stories around the camp, the kind that would draw you in, true or not. Always good for a laugh/joke. I loved watching him play the guitar, he made hanging at the campfire a blast. My favorite memory will be that he called me Charlie. I love you Uncle Lyle, you will be missed!! Love Sharla

If there was a family quilt of my life there would be a special section of squares for Aunt Betty, Uncle Lyle, Chuck, Patti, Karen, and LeighAnn. The Sweet's are a very important part of my story with all their colors, designs, squiggly, and straight lines. There in that corner of my quilt is Uncle Lyle's square. It's red for Uncle Lyle's hot temper, a picture of Yosemite Sam because of Uncle Lyle's mischievousness, his look, and the way he snickered reminded me of Yosemite Sam. But most of all there are tons of smiley faces and musical notes. Uncle Lyle was incredibly musically gifted and absolutely hysterical! Thank You Uncle Lyle for all the laughter and music you brought to our lives. I will miss your practical jokes, your fish fry, Hee Haw, your campfire coffee, but most of all just the fact that you were always there. Family events will never be the same without you!
So grateful for all the laughs! I love you, MaryBeth

Lyle was my chosen bonus grandfather. We worked together at Little Caesars, I loved hearing his naughty old man jokes and watch him cut pizzas like nothing. He always had a joke up his sleeve, or a piece of advice or knowledge to pass on; but above all he always had a shoulder to lean on, a helping hand to lend, and a heart and personality you couldn't help but love. My heart is with his immediate family during this time, just know he will never be forgotten in our lives either!
