Lydia's obituary
Lydia "Lily" Valdez, born on May 23, 1938, sadly passed away on July 9, 2023. While many knew her as Lily, she cherished the name Lydia. She was an unforgettable woman, whose fun-loving, caring, supportive, and active personality often made her the life of any gathering. She lit up a room wherever she went and suffered a severe case of missing out on anything. She was a devoted Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Sister, Aunt, Cousin and Friend. Her love for her family was her purpose and joy in life. She was always welcoming to anyone who came through her door. She was known for being the matriarch of the family, that everyone looked to and admired.
Lydia is survived by her children Brigette Barron, Richard (Rick) Valdez II, Karen Brazelton, and Kristine Marshall and Grandchildren Jay and Jojo, Tyler, Bennett and Lucas, and Parker She was an extraordinary mother, teaching her children the importance of family and the values of love, unity, and support. With her late husband Richard, Lydia ran two successful businesses, but her proudest accomplishment was raising her beautiful family. Her nurturing nature not only extended to her own family but to all those she met.
The legacy Lydia leaves behind is one of kindness, generosity, and love. She will forever be remembered in the hearts of those she touched with her vibrant spirit. Lily’s gatherings were legendary, loud laughter, joy, and warmth always filled the room — a reflection of her own larger-than-life personality.
