My apologies for the delay as I am just hearing the news.  I only had the pleasure of formally meeting Mrs. DaCosta just once many years ago, but it is abundantly clear she had and continues to have a positive impact on so many lives, including my own (even as indirectly as it was).  My sincerest condolences to the DaCosta family for your loss.

My deepest condolences to the family. Losing a mom is never easy and the void can never be filled by anything or anyone. The memories are your nourishment for a heart that will always feel a longing to see, hear  and touch your mama. The values they instilled in us is a constant reminder of their presence in our lives… Heaven rejoices that another angel has arrived. Be happy for her new life 💜

Sincere condolences to the family from my daughter Samantha and myself. We experienced roughly 12 years of administering care for my beloved husband and Sam’s dad, and I know this moment is bitter sweet…. Alzheimer’s is UGLY! Please understand you all did your BEST, even though it may not have been easy, and now Ms Lurline is at rest.

May you all be comforted and find peace during this sad period. Know that grief does not end, but with the love and strength from Almighty God you will be able to carry on, one day at a time.

Mr. D., we send lots of hugs… Hang in there, as you know there is a Hope. It will be worth it all when we see Jesus. Ms Lurline fought a good fight, and has finished her course, and she has WON her RACE.

Thinking of you all and we will continue to pray.

ONE LOVE.❤️❤️🌹🫂🌻

My deepest condolences to the DaCosta family. Mama was an extraordinary woman of faith. She loved her beloved husband and children passionately. As a former caregiver, I recall that hearing or seeing her husband whom she affectionately called Daddy would cause an immediate shift in her behavior even when she was having a difficult day. She was sweet while being very strong. On the day of her transition, I felt compelled to her. I was grateful to have been able to say my goodbye to her. She passed away peacefully. Mama will always be missed and loved. I know she was welcomed into heaven with a “Well Done, good and faithful servant!” She fought a good fight. She finished her race. She kept the faith.

Jackie💜

Mr. DaCosta artfully went between feeding his wife and regaling us about Maas Zeffy and an assortment of duppy stories. My wife and I stood there in their eat-in-kitchen transfixed between the matchless love this couple shared, the epitome of "for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health" and the ability of Mr. DaCosta to recall his days of yore.  Bouyed by his audience Mr. DaCosta, ever a crowd pleaser, went on nonstop his pleasant verbosity the antithesis to his wife's absolute silence. Approximately three hours into our visit Ms. Lurline, who had in that span only opened her mouth to accept the gracious servings of sauce her husband offered her, suddenly (or was it out of nowhere) blurted out "no listen to him a pure lie him a chat" smiled meekly then reassumed her silence.  We all had a healthy dose of laughter. Ms. Lurline, meek, dainty and sense of humor for days!
